Lisa Murkowski, Alaska’s senior U.S. Senator, is a third generation Alaskan proudly serving as the first Alaska-born Senator.
Senator Murkowski has always been a strong advocate for Alaska’s world-class fisheries. Through her role as a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Senator Murkowski secured significant funding to support priorities such as for fisheries disaster relief, research, indigenous co-management, surveys, fisheries management, marine debris removal, and transboundary watershed monitoring.
She is also a member of the subcommittee overseeing NOAA funding priorities and co-chair of the Senate Oceans Caucus.
Senator Murkowski understands that fishing is a way of life for many of her fellow Alaskans and supports federal policy that ensures its thriving, sustainable future.
