Sam Friedman

Sam manages McKinley Research Group’s seafood and mariculture team. He has contributed to numerous fisheries and mariculture research projects since joining McKinley Research Group in 2021, including ASMI’s bi-annual Economic Value of the Alaska Seafood Industry report and Alaska Seafood: Overview of the Global Supply Chain. Sam developed expertise in Alaska fisheries over 10 years as a journalist in Alaska and a year as a retail fishmonger. In his wide-ranging reporting career, he wrote for the Kodiak Daily Mirror, the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, Alaska Business, and Alaska magazine.
