Andrew Stradling

Andrew Stradling is the Technical Applications Manager for commercial hydroacoustic systems at Furuno USA, where he supports fisheries technology across the Western Hemisphere through training, field support, troubleshooting, and industry education. His work focuses on the practical application of sonar, echosounders, and multibeam systems used by commercial fishermen and fisheries scientists to locate, understand, and sustainably harvest/study resources from the sea.

Andrew has spent more than two decades working in marine electronics and fisheries acoustics. Prior to joining Furuno, he held leadership roles with Simrad/Kongsberg Fisheries, Kongsberg Underwater Technologies, and Marport Americas, specializing in advanced hydroacoustic systems used in both commercial and scientific applications. He has studied from and trained technicians, dealers, and vessel operators throughout the world on hydroacoustic technologies and their real-world application at sea.

Andrew has been attending ComFish in Kodiak for roughly twenty years and works closely with Radar Alaska, and Alaska’s fishing fleet. When he is not working with sonar systems or visiting fishing ports, he lives in the Pacific Northwest with his wife and two daughters and spends much of his free time coaching youth basketball in his community.
