Shanna grew up in Kodiak and has immense respect and love for its culture and community. After graduating from Kodiak High School, Shanna attended Western Washington University receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design and in 2018 earned her certificate as an ETT (Emergency Trauma Technician).

Since 2018, Shanna has provided oversight and support for KANA’s Wellness Center & related programs; including group fitness, medical-supervised exercise, and general exercise. Over the past four years, she has overseen the implementation of the Special Diabetes for Indians (SDPI) program and the Southern Region Emergency Medical Services Council (SREMSC) program and expanded available services offered through these programs.

Shanna helps to coordinate and teach a variety of classes including Basic Life Saving (BLS) and monthly skills workshops, Emergency Trauma Technician (ETT) classes, Green Dot, Adult Mental Health First Aide, Verbal De-escalation, Conflict Management, and Stop the Bleed and Project HOPE – Opioid Overdose Reversal.
